Hej!

Well last night I pulled my first all-nighter working on the final paper, the blog, and packing. I wrote until about 5 a.m., then took a shower and threw the last few things into my carry on and suitcase before we had to be out the door at 6:15. We packed into a few vans and made our way to the airport while it was still very dark out

Once we were all checked in and found our terminal, some of us stopped at the Espresso House for some breakfast before our flight. Our layover flight left at 8:30 to Stockholm. I was even tired enough that I slept through the entire takeoff.

It was a stressful situation when we arrived because the time between flights was very short. There was a shuttle to take us across the airport to the correct terminal, which helped save some precious minutes. We cut it very close on time though because they announced the final boarding call when we were still filing out paperwork for our passports. Somehow though, everyone made it on.

The flight was 8 hours and change back to Chicago. I switched back and forth between sleeping and writing my final paper. We landed at O’Hare about an hour earlier than scheduled, which was very nice.

It was a bit concerning that a flight from China arrived just after us and there were many other people in the airport weeing masks because of the Corona virus. Going through customs was a much simpler process than I ever imagined it would be, especially once they redirected us to our own lane. One of the contraband-sniffing Beagle!

After a few more check-points and finding our checked bags, we were finally free to get on the bus and head back to campus. Lauren, Matt, and Samantha went hone with their parents instead though. The ride back to campus was nice, and just like that, the trip was over!

I’ve had such an amazing time in Sweden learning about business and the culture there. I’ve made so many new friends and memories that I will remember forever. Who knows, maybe I’ll be going back to Sweden sooner rather than later.
Daily Reflections:
- Pulling an all-nighter really hits hard the next night.
- My ears can handle take–off, but they get very painful during the landing process.
- It’s nice not being the ugliest one in a room anymore compared to the Swedes.
- American bathrooms seem humongous now.
- Frankly, I have to admit this has been one hell of a trip. 🙂
